Description
The only hope of regaining the Monarch butterfly population is milkweed! Over the past few decades milkweed plants have been drastically diminished due to mowing and chemicals. Sadly, this has resulted in a loss of our universal favourite, the Monarch butterflies, since they depend on milkweed as the host plant for their eggs. In my wanderings over the past few days I've been gathering seeds, some for my own butterfly garden, and plenty more to scatter in the nature areas where I walk ... and some to share if anyone is interested.

Fantastic detail of these milkweed seeds and their trailing threads of silk, Peggy. Your title is so apt! f/l

Many thanks, Ann! Hopefully more people will set aside a bit of space to plant some ... and think of these as wildflowers rather than noxious weeds!! :-)
