Description
The 52' Port Dalhousie Inner Range Lighthouse is one of only three remaining octagonal shaped lighthouses on the Great Lakes. It has a very interesting history, part of a rich heritage in the Niagara Region. You can read more here: http://www.stcatharines.ca/en/experiencein/PortDalhousieInnerRangeLighthouse.asp

Thanks for the comment Ann, Port Dalhousie, terminus for the first three Welland Canals, is part of St. Catharines, on Lake Ontario, just minutes from Niagara Falls, There are actually two lighthouses there, both built in the 1800s, an antique carousel that still offers rides for a nickel, and the smallest, oldest standing jail in Ontario. It's a delightful place to wander!!
