Artist's Description
In response to a challenge (http://www.lesliesaeta.blogspot.ca/2012/12/thirty-paintings-in-thirty-days.html) I have chosen to use a theme of butterflies from photos I have taken at the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls, Ontario. I plan to do pen & ink sketches, then paint them with watercolour.
Day 11 Postman - Heliconius or Longwing - there are several sub-species of the longwing found from Mexico through Central America.
About Peggy King
While art, whether it be drawing or painting or creating in clay, was my first love all through my younger years, after high school I went into a secretarial course at college. The following year I left school altogether, married and started my family. As a stay-at-home-Mom I found my creative outlet in crafts of all descriptions, and in cake decorating and the 'confectionery arts' which I also taught for more than 25 years from my home. Many of my greatest friends today were introduced to me as they sat at my dining room table decades ago in those classes. About 2008, I set aside the icing bags and picked up the paint brushes again! At the same time I began taking pictures with the intent of using them as reference for future...

PEggy, this is so beautiful that I hardly have the words to describe how much I like it. This is another of your many colorful and delightful works of art. Thank you for your kind comments. LF

Very beautiful, Peggy. But the postman who comes to my door every day looks nothing this. :-)
Peggy King replied:
I dare say, Ann! ;-) Thank you for your comments on my butterflies, my Friend... as always, very much appreciated.
